Friends of San Antonio Natural Areas
A volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) non-profit supporting conservation in San Antonio, Texas. The Friends of San Antonio Natural Areas, formerly know as The Friends of Friedrich Wilderness Park, was officially incorporated in 1990 to preserve and protect wildlife and endangered species, and today they continue efforts to preserve all natural areas within the City of San Antonio's Parks and Recreation Department. Emily and Albert Friedrich Wilderness Park features over 600 acres of undeveloped Hill Country terrain, with over 10 miles of paved and unpaved trails. Friedrich is also home to the federally-listed endangered the Golden-cheeked Warbler. Our mission is promoting stewardship of San Antonio’s Natural Areas, and to the understanding and appreciation of nature through educational and scientific programs.
